In fact, every program will access the tablebases when you reach a position they contain, but only the newer programs will use the tablebases in their search. I first noticed this after I installed the Fritz Endgame Turbo CD and assumed it had something to do with the installation program. Perhaps it always worked this way and I just didn't notice it. Len
