My opinion can be found on: http://www.rebel.nl/cpssdf.htm Bottom line: This Christophe is quite a guy. Coming from nowhere his program enters the list on no.1. When was the last time you did see such an event to happen? It's like the days of the Beatles, release a song and then enter the top-40 at no.1 a few days after. That IMO deserves as much as attention as it can get. Whenever we talk in email or face-to-face about new ideas I perceive a deep knowledge of computer chess programming. Christophe is the new star on the firmament, you can expect a lot more from him the coming years and that is a promise. And oh yes, advertising with SSDF=1 increases sales. >* If his opinion is now positive, why has he changed his mind? My mind changed after some postings here on CCC from a SSDF member (tester). >* Will he now submit Century for testing by the SSDF? The SSDF is free to include Rebel Century on their list. However if they do I hope they will do it manually since the external auto232 driver hurts Rebel's playing strength. I have asked Enrique to include Rebel Century to his tournament. Since he is using auto232 I asked him to reboot the PC Rebel Century is running after 3-5 games and then continue. I think it will help to limit the damage. >For the record, my opinion of the SSDF is that, whatever its shortcomings, >it's the best show in town by a country mile - so I would be supportive of >them. I agree. Ed >-g
