That's right. In my country probably only one or two players -GM Ivan Morovic
and maybe IM Rodrigo Vásquez- could hold a game againts any of the current top
programs. The rest of the current strong players crop here would be wiped off
the board. Surely the same happens in many countries. It is unbearable for
normal human egoes. It is neccesary to be, like us, enthusiastic CC fans to
overcome that feeling of impotence and even get a kick to be kicked in the ass
one time after another. I am what in USA call an "expert" chess player, with a
cup won in a tournament, and yet I have no chance even at slow ryhtms of play
like those I like. My only uncertainty when I begin to play a program is if i am
going to be killed in 25 movements -a pawn lost is for me enough to resign- or
in 45. But I am not a pro player and I can even enjoy the defeat. But for a pro
is like death, like to be mauled by a toy. I remember a argentinian master that
complained whow bad he felt after being defeated "by a piece of furniture..."
