I am going to respond to this in public, so if there is going to be a problem
here, perhaps it can be solved more quickly than usual.

Here is a general primer about what to do about pests in CCC.

----------------

The wrong thing to do is get into a giant fight with the pest. Here is what
that leads to:

1) The pest can complain about how he's being persecuted by people who are
violating the charter.

2) The pest can complain about a double standard when he is warned about
imminent squishing, and the people who are picking on him are not.

3) The pest has more places to grab onto, and more stuff to hide behind. It is
hard to squish a pest who is happily writing rude responses to people who have
strongly over-reacted to his initial attempts to cause irritation.

4) The pest loves being a pest, so if you write an enraged response you are
giving him exactly what he has come here to get, and he loves it.

The right thing to do is ignore the pest or send moderator email. If someone is
trying to be a pest, and people don't respond to him, but several people send
moderator email, there are some benefits:

1) The guy has to work harder to be a pest, which makes him a more obvious pest,
and when he get squished it's obvious that the right thing was done.

2) There is obviously only one pest, and a bunch of innoncent people who are
being pestered. This makes it obvious who is in the wrong, so one guy
eventually gets smashed, the pest. It is always very easy to handle a situation
where you are obviously right and the pest is obviously wrong.

3) The fact that people are complaining makes it very obvious to the moderators
that there is a problem.

So please, if you are offended by someone, either complain about it via
moderator email, or ignore it. This makes things much easier for everyone
except the pest.
