Subject: ChessBits is threatened by Computerschach and speile

it is said there:

In ChessBits 3 we have started a test to research the effectivity of the
tablebases in several programs. For that we used some positions of the "Nunn
endgame test".
The magazine CSS and its publisher Vögel did say that we have touched their
copyright and they were prejudiced.

When we announced the second part of the research we have got the following
reaction:

"... In the last issue of your magazine you have announced to publish the second
part of this article. On he supposation that you once again are using parts of
our copyright protected stuff we forbid you to publish your article... we will
use all our possibilities to protect our copyright. You have to pay the costs:"

At the moment we try to reach an agreement with CSS/Vögel. But this is not very
easy because they haven´t hold agreements in former times. So we don´t want to
disturb the negotiation we don´t publish the whole case now to show the
"honesty" of the colleagues. Maybe they are coming to their senses.

why is computerschach and speile attacking chessbits, i thought
this new magazine is doing a great job.

What is their fear ?
aren't there enough customers for all ?
