Huh?  As it says, "GNU Chess 5.00 does work with XBoard and WinBoard".  In fact,
WinBoard 4.0.5 comes with both GNU Chess 4.0.77 and 5.00, so you can choose
whichever you prefer.  Perhaps you read "does work" as "does not work"??
