I have a collection of 190 tactical positions that I enjoy using to test the strength of new programs. I was amazed that the new Little Goliath 2000 v 2.0 was by far the worst overall performer, only scoring 66/190. Interestingly, the program had the best scores for quite a few positions. So it would seem that even in the area of tactics LG2000 v 2 still has some gaping holes and does not compete too well with the big boys! The results are as follows Nimzo 7.32-127MB/450 MHz Pentium 2 Solves 126 Crafty 16.15-111MB/450 MHz Pentium II Solves 125 Fritz 5.32-111MB/450 MHz Pentium II Solves 122 Junior 5.0-111MB/450 MHz Pentium II Solves 122 Fritz 6.00-128MB/450 MHz Pentium 2 Solves 118 Junior 6.0-128MB/450 MHz Pentium 2 Solves 115 Hiarcs 7.32-64MB/450 MHz Pentium II Solves 113 LGoliath 2000 2.0-128MB/450 MHz Pentium 2 Solves 66 Regards Steve Maughan
