I now think it is clear that Rebel Century will be unable to reach and hold a 2500+ elo level in the current GM challenge. It seems Rebel Century is suffering from the typical computer weaknesses that all programs suffer from, which was to be expected. What is shocking is Rebel Century seems to have created new holes for itself that I don't see in other Rebel versions or the top of the line chess programs such a Fritz, Hiarcs, or Junior etc. It is my strong opinion it was a mistake for some people to assume Rebel Century based on past Rebel version would perform best against humans thus be a good yard stick for all other chess programs when playing strong GM's. The good news is even with the weaknesses in Rebel Century it is holding just short of a 2500 elo mark, and if my observations are valid there are chess programs on the market right now that could and would reach well past Rebel's performance and into the 2500+ elo level playing against GM's.
