I think one reason Kasparov acted that way was due to the 2nd game of the match. Resigning in a drawn position would not sit well with any one (although it did take even Rebel (as well as other programs) about 7 minutes or so to find the draw). Another reason may also have been the 'cheapo' he tried in the last game (game 6) which backfired on him. This too would not sit will with any one of us. I understand ( I think) why he tried the move order he chose. No other chess program responded in the way that Deep Blue did. As far as that goes, no other chess program to date has played a game like the one Deep Blue played in game two. Just some thoughts... PilgrimDan
