Whatever happened to the Kasparov who was going around the world telling
everyone that he enjoyed new challenges? What happened to the Kasparov who said
that he would "tear deepblue to shreds" if given a rematch? Is it at all
possible that Kasparov talked all the big words because he expected that IBM
would deny him the rematch, Now that Hsu has come forward with the match
proposal, kasparov has tucked his tail between his legs and runs like a coward.
I think he knows just how strong deepblue was, and expects it to be even
stronger. I think he is simply afriad he will lose and look foolish in front of
the world, And his legacy would then not be the greatest player the world has
seen, but like spaasky(lost to fisher) he will be the one remember for
losing to a computer.
