I almost always just get the most recent Crafty and overwrite the last one,  I
didn't use the 1st couple of version 17 Craftys because they were not working so
well for me, but now I'm just back to using the most recent release.

I never see the vast majority of the bugs that people report, so if someone is
whining and complaining about how Crafty bit them in the big toe, I just ignore
it.

I think v16.19 was very good and strong, bug free, but I have v17.5 now and it
works well for me.  If you're using a Chessbase interface, I don't have a clue
what .eng Craftys are available to you, it's not the ideal place to run Crafty.
