To my way of thinking a ban is very drastic, and should be the very last
recourse to a problem. If it is clear that the only goal of posting is to make
trouble, or if there are continual profane posts or attacking posts or things of
that nature, then I think a ban is in order.

However, in this case, I don't see that clearly. I propose, instead, that we
wipe the slate clean and put all sour posts behind us. Perhaps if we all calm
down and decide to talk about computer chess we can get along nicely.

Bruce has pointed out (and I am in 100% agreement) that I was causing as much of
a stir as the posters in question. Really, if we should ban them, then I should
also be banned.

I have a very low tolerance for what I consider to be trolling. (That is a
weakness that I should work on). On USENET, I have dozens of entries in my
killfile. That is because I have little self control when I see something that
rubs me the wrong way. Since we do not have that feature here [but it sure
would be nice -- hint, hint {T.M.}] I will simply try to post with more
discipline and less flying off the handle.

My formal apologies to the entire group for stiring up a bee's nest.
