I think that's not too surprising, depending on what hardware Deep Thought was
running on. (As I recall, there were several iterations of DT. Does anybody know
which one produced these results?)

Anyway, I also recall reading that DT searched ~800,000 NPS. I wouldn't be
surprised if Ferret searched faster than this. Also, remember that DT's search
was probably not very efficient and it didn't use null move.
