I think to contain the whole PV would not work.  You might have transpositions.
Also, by including the ce, you will know if you find something better.

Consider some position that wins a bishop outright in 10 ply by choosing the
appropriate path.  If the current ce is -1.09, then after it might be about +2.

But suppose you find a move that takes the queen outright instead at ply 11.
Now you have a ce of +8.0 or better.  Hence, you found a better tactical assault
than the original choice.
