To some extent I agree, Anand is a professional chess player around 30 years old. IMHO he was stupid to accept a blitz game challenge.....when his reputation was on the line. It is obvious that REBEL invested this time and money to make money.....or why else do it ?? If Anand had play long time controls he would have had a chance to win it all....Bobby Fischer would NEVER have agreed to such a match unless it was just an offhand game....not a match like this one....Either Anand is a Dope or doesn't have the hunger to always win...I don't know...I have never met him. ------------ http://www.rediff.com/sports/2000/jan/11anand.htm <Anand snip start> Before the game against Rebel, the programmer reportedly said, you would beat it comprehensively. If I played the match again, maybe I could win also. In all the normal games, the games of reasonable time limit, I won against Rebel. They try as hard as possible to publicize the fact that it defeated me and they hope to sell a few programs. There is not much you can do about it. I don’t have the time to run ads in the paper all the time. I think, it is just misleading. In the blitz games, computers are already far superior. At least the odds will always go their way <Anand snip end> I think this confirms where I was coming from.
