Probably. Who was the second man to climb Everest? Who was the second
man to run a four minute mile? Who was the second man to walk on the moon? Do
you see a pattern here?
Not to mention the fact that it is pretty clear that neither Kasparov nor
IBM has any desire to accept such a challenge.
