IMHO he was stupid to accept a blitz game challenge.....when his >reputation was on the line. This is not true. Anand wanted to play blitz games only, similar to the Yusupov-Rebel event of the year before. I didn't like the idea as this was not in my interest as nobody wants to see more blitz games. So on my initiative the 2 tournament games were added to the match, in total 8 games as you can do not much in only 3 days: - 6 x blitz 5m + 5 secs Fischer (4.5-1.5) - 2 x semi-blitz 15m (1.5-0.5) - 2 x 40/2h all/60 (0.5-1.5) A few month before the match a little prediction contest aas done. 650 people subscribed and the vast majority predicted Rebel would lose the match with considerable numbers. Here are the statistics: Total number of received predictions is 650. CONCLUSIONS 29% of people expected a clear win for Vishy Anand. Only 7% expected a clear win for Rebel. 65% of people expected Anand to win the Match. Still 25% of people predicted Rebel to win. Anand can have his revenge match any time at his conditions.
