Commercial programs have been playing GM/IM's over the last 8 months (26 games) and have a combined win points of 13.5 out of the 26 games (above 50%) with the GM/IM average at 2507. This puts the TPR for commercial programs very close to the GM average rating of 2524 (621 GM's, low = 2278, high = 2851). The performance for commercial programs include ratings on 300 MHZ machines (slow by today's standards) up to 4x500 machines. The 300MHZ machines have TPR's that are in the IM range (Rebel AMD K2-300 TPR = 2427), while the upper end machines have TPR's that are in the very stong FIDE range (Shredder PIII-500 TPR = 2751). This data also shows a clear trend that supports increasing HW speed continues to increase program TPR agains humans. I see no decline. IMHO. I have posted all the data in previous posts, I have this in Excel, and I will post as more of the Isreal League continues. Results include only 40/2, Rebel GM Challenge, Commercial WCCC 1999, and Isreal League. Best Regards, Chris Carson
