I mean a computer that beats other computers MAY not necisarily play stronger against Humans than the computer it beats. It all involves search depth vs knowledge algorithms. Ed, in his web pages has said he is concentrating on v Humans, and thus may not do as well against computers. An example of this was the 10b and 10c versions of Rebel. 10c gave up some knowledge to search faster & deeper to play better against other computers, while 10b was slower and more knowledgable. Rebel currently does not play correctly using Autoplayer, and this is why there arn't many Comp - Comp Results. I think we should have enough faith in Ed as a very experienced programmer that he would not be releasing steadily weaker versions of his program, that would be the road to ruin. Tina Long
