As has been pointed out Rebel concentrates on comp v human play, so it could
well be indeed that Rebel 8 has been stronger in comp vs comp play.

Although I haven't got any statistics but just a few manually played games I
think RC is still stronger than Rebel 8 in current comp vs comp game, and also
stronger in "Elo-points" as well.

I think the progress on Elo points in comp vs comp would have been bigger if
Rebel had concentrated on that, but to be honest: I'm glad they didn't.
Rebel is my favourite to play against. Just .... play .... not muddle through
all the lovely gadgets, databases, analyses etc.... :)

It raises another question though: the relevance of a program being stronger
against computers that against humans. There was a discussion and a poll about
that on the Rebel site and board. But still, that's another (still very
interesting) discussion.
