Going by "Control Panel/system, General tab" then I I guess that I don't have it, that's also one of the areas where I also saw "4.00.950" so I guess I must have been in the right area. But since my last post about this, I have further considered this, and since my computer still has Windows for Workgroups & Dos 6.22 and also DR Dos, then partitians larger than 2Gb may end up causing me problems anyhow since I do still need them ocasionally (they're much more stable than Win95). Thanks for all your help Vincent, I think I'm stuck with 2Gb partitions though, oh well, that's more than my whole HD is now. Pete
