"At least you could try to spell your backhanded remarks correctly." Get it? Actually, it's pretty funny. If you like sarcasm. Otherwise, it't not. Of course, I could be wrong, and it might be a real attempt at better grammar, spelling, and punctuation. In that case, I have a long way to go. Anyway, let's all be nice. Courtesy is free (which is cheap at twice the price). A glance at some Nettiquette FAQ's might be a nice idea. I don't think we want to try to sterilize CCC and chrome plate the whole thing. But if we sit around and try to think up snappy retorts, we will never address any of the issues, will we? Now, it turns out that it is pretty difficult for people to be tolerant. A poet once said, "Intoleration is a state no tolerant man can tolerate." (He wasn't a very good poet). Maybe we really are too thick headed to tolerate differences between men and women. Maybe we really are too thick headed to tolerate different backgrounds and religions. On the day after a man is remembered in the US for a hope that people "would be judged by the content of their character" that is really too bad. But we really should be open minded enough to _at least_ tolerate each other's opinions. And if an *opinion* gets us so hot under the collar that all we can do is poke back at the *person* then perhaps we feel insecure [with reason] about our own position. I always feel that I should be able to defend my beliefs and feelings rationally. If I get angry, that (to me) is a sign that I am afraid I might be wrong. Time to take a deeper look.
