I would also recommend the sources for Phalanx as it sits squarely between those
two extremes (crafty/tscp).  It also plays a mean game of chess.

The best source of chess programming information is postscript papers gathered
from the net.  I don't think that there are any good books out there.  Or does
anybody know of one?
