Hi Stuart! On January 18, 2000 at 19:44:13, stuart taylor wrote: >If all what you say about m-chess pro is true, then how can it not turn >out to be the the strongest program? Because playing interesting, exciting, thrilling and attacking chess is not enough to be the strongest program of them all... If you reread this passage: >>For MChess Pro, at least 1 of every 2 games is a real thriller, mostly with >>furious king attacks, and most of the time these thriller games are convincing >>wins for MChess, where the opponent didn't have a clue of what was going on, >>until it's too late. Of course, sometimes these attacks fail, but then you will >>often see nice wins by the opponents, making the games still very enjoyable. you can see, that if "at least 1 out of 2 games is a thriller", and only "most of these games are wins for MChess", than approx. 1/2 of MChess games are wins for the opponents ;-) So I didn't say that MChess is the strongest of them all - only that in my opinion it plays the most interesting and most human like chess of them all. By the way, MChess is still one of the top programs, concerning playing strength. Greetings, Heiko.
