I know that some people did use programs just to get a higher rating, but it wasn't many, I think that saying most of the higher rated players do. One really has to question their motivation. Why spend hours playing chess if you are just making moves with your program? It does not help in testing, because Yahoo ratings aren't very accurate, and play is manual, so I can rule that out. Additionally one does not really improve in playing if a program is used. And finally there's really nothing to gain.... So I don't think it's a really good idea. Anyway there are some good players in there, so don't jump to any conclusions. Regards -Imran
