Go up one level in this thread

I already had ChessPartner so was familiar with the interface. I cannot get
Tiger to use an Openings book. I can switch one in if I use the Chesspartner
engine but it switches out straight away when I switch back to Tiger.

I like the configurable levels facility....a nice touch. Not sure about its
strength yet, it hasn't won a game yet, probably due to time problems as a
result of no opening book.

I do not like the lack of variation in layout of the clock. There appears to be
one format of digital clock and that's it. I prefer to see time remaining for
game and time per move or last move. Have not found that on Tiger yet, or Chess
Partner.

It seems to keep resetting the hash ram size according to level. I still
haven't figured that out yet. It appears to set itself very little hash ram
(16k or 128k ). I would expect to see hash ram in Mbs. not kbs.

When I first loaded it I played a quick game and the book was switched in. That
was at game in 30m. Once I changed the level to 60/60 the book has never worked
since.

have you any ideas? I know there is book conversion software on the CD but I
would have thought it not necesssary just to get the program started.

In the Options there is a book openings page missing, whicvh is present with
Chess Partner. Is the Tiger replete of Openings facilities. I'd be surprised
if it was.#

I think I'm missing something somewhere.

I have waited a long time for Rebel Tiger and so far I am dissappointed with the
playing strength.

Can anyone help please?
