Are you running anything in the background, like an apache server or anything. My suggestion is to try "ps -ef" and look at the memory size of everything running, right after booting. Then do the same when it slows down. I'll bet something has grown via a memory leak, and is causing paging. My quad xeon looks like this: crafty% uptime 4:32pm up 6 days, 31 min, 1 user, load average: 0.07, 0.08, 1.06 And it is still running crafty just fine. I rebooted last week to install 2.2.14 Bob
