Subject: Off Topic: Flavors of Linux

Even though I make my living writing software for Windows
platforms (mostly) and OpenVMS (not so much, anymore), I
think it's probably time to get some exposure to Linux -
don't laugh, I just move a little slowly sometimes.

My questions are: Is there any *best* package? RedHat,
Mandrake, plus others I have no clue about, and is there
any one or more that should be avoided?
