I disagree. AMD isn't competing with Intel very well in any market, because of too many technical glitches... IE PII compatibility without PII compatibility. Etc. I doubt I will ever run a mobile machine that has to resort to emulation to run most applications. VLIW architectures are not new. They can be fast. They are definitely not 'standard'.
