As Bob said, Red Hat is one of the most popular. I use Mandrake now, which is kind of an improved Red Hat. One major difference is that they bundle KDE, which is a nice windowing system that has a look and feel somewhat like Windows (although it is highly customizable). I didn't like Red Hat's default bundled window manager (AfterStep, I think) as well. But you can put KDE on top of Red Hat yourself if you're willing to download and install it. If you're not sure which you want, you can buy both Red Hat and Mandrake from cheapbytes.com for about $2 apiece and try them both. I think they have other distros as well. --Jon
