Then, assuming Crafty were playing, would it be ok to tweak the eval
terms/weights that are available to the end user (using the eval command)
since this isn't a 'software' change?  If so the rule is even more stupid
than it first sounded.  Because there are an infinite number of changes an
end user could make...
