It is a common mistake to think Chessbase or any other company has a brand new upgrade and five minutes later this upgrade is on a new CD. This is absolutely impossible in many respects. How could an upgrade be on a CD the next day when it has just been on the internet for 5 minutes for download - fresh from the oven, so to speak? Think about the time you need to manufacture that! But even more important: ChessBase pressed maybe 5000 or 10 000 CDs last time. Nobody throws 10 000 CDs into a waste paper basket just to press a new upgrade. All these 10 000 CDs will be sold. Nobody knows how long this will take. But only AFTER the whole edition is sold out they will press a new edition. This is the way it is done and this is sensible. All firms do this! So you can in fact buy any time and upgrade thru the internet. A program like FRITZ is NEVER finished! The final version of FRITZ 6 will be the one after FRITZ 7 will have been released. Nice Sunday, Bert
