Subject: My tournament went lost in data nirvana ... :-(

I've been asked why my "Winter Tournament" was taken from my web site:

I tried to install LINUX this weekend and wanted to resize my hard disk
partitions ... during that process "Partition Magic" crashed and I lost all my
data on that partition. As it happened, tt was my programs and Chessbase
partition, of course, so I lost all my Fritz installations and settings and
databases. I have worked all day to reinstall everything from scratch. I could
try to reconfigure the tournament settings, but this would take too much time
and therefore I have decided to cancel this tourney and restart another one in a
couple of days, as in the meantime many engines have been improved. I have
Crafty 17.06, Comet B12, AnMon 5.05, Phalanx 22, Fritz 6a and Junior 6a, so I
will start a new tourney. I am awaiting a bit more memory, which I will receive
hopefully in a few days. Then my system will have 320 MB RAM and I can create a
new tourney with 130 MB hash tables for each engine.

I'm sorry I had to cancel my tourney, but the new one will be just as good!

I'll keep you posted!
Andreas
