Fritz is nice in that it comes with a stripped-down version of Chessbase that has very good game viewing and searching capabilities. Also they throw in a decent database with quite a few annotated games. Considering the whole package, it's a good deal for the money. Chess Genius is interesting in that it's got quite a unique playing style. Very positional, while Fritz sometimes seems to go for "throw in material and see if it works" type of combinations. This is no longer one of the very top programs but it is sure to be plenty challenging for a B player. --Jon On January 23, 2000 at 16:06:25, Roger Tribble wrote: >What programs are best????
