it still makes not more sense to test program x/p200 vs. program y/p450
or even more stupied to test program x/p450 vs. program x-1/p450.
we had this in all those years, e.g.

roma 68020 vs. roma 68000.
or rebel9 vs. rebel8.
or mchess5 vs. mchess4.

in the same way the fact that only a few INNER programs get tested against
another few TOP programs is not ok.
test them all on 450 and test top against weak, and you get good data.
but all the other experiences with 200 Mhz vs. 400 or version x against
version x-1 makes no sense and is IMO not measuring the strength
but something completely different.

pah -
as i said: the autoplayer have helped us to play more games. but they also
stopped concentrating on chess instead of concentrating on RESULTS.

i would like to discuss about chess and not about program x killing program
y 12 times !

why not play the same game 500 times than. or playing it ONE time and
multiplying
the results with 500 ??
this would spare playing 499 games.
