I have found that the auto232 works great as "Slave" but I have been unable to make it play vs Chessbase programs as "Master". It's not important most of the time since Chessbase as Master works great. I have problems when Junior crashes at the end of games sometimes. The Chessbase GUI then cannot save the game as it is "Frozen". So I lose the game. When I tried to play a "Makeup" game with Rebel Tiger as white I need Chesspartner to act as "Master". *********** > >The problem is that we cannot guarantee it will work with any chess program, >because the Auto232 protocol is itself very lousy, and has been sometimes >implemented in a very lousy way in some chess programs. > >However, it works rather well. It's just that it seemed to be the iceing on the cake after the other problems. As I said in another post it is now playing very close in strength to Fritz/Junior and only time will tell how close. I'm satisfied that it is plenty strong. ********* > >> It's hard to believe I've >>spent the last 3 months waiting for this junk.
