I don't subscribe to that. Certainly CCC, RGCC, ICF, or whatever place, is not
the end-all of end-alls, but just as any club, it is one where one wants to
share discussions on common interests from a variety of different perspectives.
One doesn't go there because it is necessarily _important_ per se, but because
one will meet with people with whom one will inevitably form social interactions
(hence the word 'club', and I consider many newsgroups to be clubs of as well).
I would be pretty upset if my name were dragged in the mud publicly in front of
people I had come to respect, and would undoubtedly respond accordingly. I'm not
commenting on your banning, but on the comment that the place has no value. It
is of value to those who enjoy it. The format here may be identical to some of
the technical support BBSs, but its content and nature are another altogether.
