What will make you a good moderator? What do you think of >posters like me? The job is not appealing. I accepted my nomination because I appreciate that CCC exists. Somebody out there nominated me immediately when elections were announced; I interpret that as a strong vote of confidence from an anonymous participant. If members believe that I will be a just and fair moderator, then I owe it to the group to fulfill that expectation. I have many years of volunteer experience, in organized chess and in other fields. Having experience deciding when to discuss situations further and when to take action may assist me in being a good moderator. In my role as Edmonton Chess Club president, I chair our board meeting discussions. In my role as editor of the Alberta Chess Report, I decide what information is disseminated to our readers. I recognize that moderating CCC would be a new, significantly different experience, but experiencing new things is how we learn, and I'm confident that I'd be up to the task if selected. I am afraid I don't know you well enough to have an opinion of you... but your questions were good. :-) Dave
