Fascinating.

ChrisW says he knows this much:

1. He did not post since November 1997.

2. In March 1998, he received notification of a ban in two ways.

(a) From Enrique Irazoqui by email, using the word 'ban' that Hyatt now denies.
(b) From Schroeder and co. by rgcc public post with the phrase "no longer
welcome on CCC".

3. To confirm the ban, ChrisW said he logged in twice that day to CCC using his
original username and password combination. He said the server came up with an
invalid password/username message.

4. At the end of the Moreland, Amir Ban, Don Dailey period; ChrisW told me he
was in email contact with the latter two moderators (Bruce Moreland having
resigned already). The two moderators told ChrisW he could reapply for
membership if he wanted. ChrisW said he told them that the minimum he would
accept would be a reinstallation of the original password and username, since,
in his (ChrisW's) view this password/username combination was 'illegally'
deleted. Illegally meaning outside of the Charter of the CCC. Also they would
have to remind him what the username/password actually was, since he had
forgotten by then. Ban and Dailey refused to reinstate the original
password/username, they said ChrisW should go through normal application
procedures open to any person.

Now you appear to be stating that the original password/username was reinstated
at a later date, but without informing anybody. Specifically without informing
ChrisW, and in the knowledge that ChrisW didn't know the password/username
details anyway.

Why and when were the password/username combination restored? Why was ChrisW not
informed?

Was Bruce Moreland informed? He appears to consider that ChrisW is banned by the
method of password change.
