I share some of the frustrations mentioned here with the engine vs engine setup. Here is what I do to get 2 engines to play out 1 specific position. I setup a test database with only game in it, and that game is at the specific position I want to analyze. Then I setup a new engine vs engine match and point to the database with the one single game/position. Then I start the match with whatever time options and engines I want. For some reason on my system the engine match just stops the first time I try without any moves being made ?? At this point I just end the match and go back and setup again with the same parameters . Then it works ?!?. This is true with the original Fritz6 and with the new Fritz 6a. There are some other quirks with the engine vs engine setup that others have mentioned before.
