Hello Dan,
You are right but (Big but) there are some minor problems with the system and
that added to the poor manual make it very difficult for us new users of
Chesspartner.  I'm sure prior users of Chesspartner are having no new problems.
The engine works fine.  The GUI still has some growing up to do.  I'm now
searching for help in getting it connected to FICS.  I can connect to ICC with
no problem at all but for some reason FICS is different.
