Let's consider the case of the a- and b-pawns (all 3 other combinations work just the same). I'll outline the pawn paths, leaving out the moves that manoeuvre the pieces to be captured to a2 and b7: 1. a2-a6 b7-b6 2. a6xb7 a7-a1P 3. b7-b8P b6-b3 4. ..... b3xa2 5. b2-b8P a2-a1P and both sides have promoted both pawns, using one capture each. --- Shep
