There appears to be a considerable degree of animosity between some of the various protagonists. Multiple parties feel they are being unjustly treated, and I don't foresee a resolution that will leave a bright smile on everybody's face. I'm not saying that it isn't worth a try, though. IMO the moderation decisions of people who performed the job so long ago that they weren't even elected by the users (the standard procedure here for quite some time) doesn't have much to do with computer chess. All the same, as long as that moderation decision is still "active", it is difficult to consider the discussion to be off-topic. If people are willing to at least accept that they will gain no satisfaction from perpetuating this sorry war, then Chris could make a legitimate account, we could get back to computer chess, and let new, elected moderators worry about bad posts and/or bad posters. This solution asks more of some than of others, but I think any solution will have that property. If it seems to you that this is a terrible suggestion, before you take me to task consider that I am an outsider to the events that occured. I do not have a copious amount of detail regarding who did what, where, when and why. I am not at all interested in pointing fingers or assigning blame. I believe it is unreasonable to expect to go back and correct every perceived or actual wrong that occured or might have occured. But it is possible to move forward from today in a new direction.
