My post was not about why Chris W. should be happy or what he likes or dislikes. It was about why some people are turned off by Chris. Chris may not feel picked on, but he has been. At any rate, that is neither here nor there. Clinical psychological diagnosis about homo-erotic whatever-it-is is not something I think you (or Chris) are capable of performing. And I think we can do nicely without "F*** you!" posts. You do have a point that we have very mixed signals about what went on. Everyone has a different story, and I mean EVERYONE. Instead of assuming that others are lying, why not assume that they really mean it? Isn't it possible that the perception that they have of the events is different than yours (or Chris's)? Here is my take (purely gathered from hearsay -- but I have looked at the testimony of everyone). I am assuming that everyone is sincere, which leads me to the following: I think probably Chris was not treated fairly. Following that event, Chris went ballistic. Unfortunately, this thwarted Chris's chance to achieve justice, since those who were seeking it decided it was not a good idea because of the "missile crisis." Since that time, Chris has been decidedly and deservedly angry about it. The other principals have been just as angry about the entire mess and everyone is determined not to bend. A weird parallel: After WWII, there were a bunch of Japanese and German people who the US put into concentration camps. We had taken all of their stuff. At the end of the war, we let them out, but did not even give them their stuff back. Quite frankly, that wasn't very nice. Years later, some of their offspring were compensated. What is the price of being wrongfully incarcerated for years, and having all your life's possessions taken away? They could never be compensated fairly for what happened to them, could they? So what's my point? We won't ever achieve justice in this matter. It can't be done. Wouldn't it be nice (though) if everyone could just forgive everyone else and pretend that it never happened? I'm not saying that this *will* happen. Only that I wish it would.
