Thanks for the great effort!  I never expected anyone actually to go away and do
something
with the numbers I reproduced.  I don't have any background in stats, but I've
done a lot
of Maths in my time.  There are probably quite a few on this forum who can claim
to know
their Maths (and others who can't!), knowing the affinity between Maths and
Chess.

What you said in your post made a lot of sense.  I had to read it twice before
it sunk in.  At
least you didn't say that the whole idea behind the simulation was nonsense, as
some others
have said.

I've recently written some posts about these variations you can expect in match
results,
mainly in reaction to posts from people saying "Crafty beat Fritz 15-9.  What
happened?"
and others suggesting it might be a Winboard problem -- when all the time simple
probability is enough to explain it.

Anyway, I'm babbling.  I definitely hope to augment the analysis so I can get
more
accurate figures.
