Subject: A question for Frederic Friedel

Hi Frederic !
I hope you had a good trip this weekend.
I have a question and I think many people also would ask it. Look, many years
ago I bought a good Bosch drill and I am very happy with it. When I need a new
drill bit, I go to the local hardware shop and buy a new bit. And I buy there
only a drill bit, not a whole drill. But my drill is getting older and older and
soon I would buy a new drill.
During the last year I bought Fritz 5.32, Junior 5 and Hiarcs 7. It was around
AUS$100 each including postage. All of them have the same GUI , but I never used
Junior's or Hiarcs's interface because I run these engines under Fritz 5.32. I
upgraded my Fritz 5.32 to Fritz6 now. And I want to buy just the Junior-6 engine
! I don't need another useless GUI, which would grab 10 Mb+ of my tiny HD and
which I would NEVER use! And soon I'll need Hiarcs-8 or Nimzo-8 because I enjoy
watching eng.vs.eng. matches. So, what for to buy another three drills ,if I
have one (Fritz-6) and I just want drill bits for it ?! I would be happy to pay
reasonable ,say, $20-30 for the eng. and DLL files and I would use them with
Fritz GUI. Does it may sense ? And if you sell programs and engines separetely,
more people would afford to buy them and I reckon you would double your profit.
I hope you would speak with your friends from ChessBase about it.
Thanks for your great job
Your long time customer (I hope)
Anatoli (not Karpov)
