Stephan: First, thanks for your suggestions, as they may result in solution of the problem. Here is some information about my problem with the endgame databases and Shredder. I will also post to the CCC for the information of the group, as some others may have the same problems. When Analysis mode is off, the computer hangs after I Edit (setup) a position. When Analysis mode is on, the computer accepts the position and starts calculation, but does not ask for the CD. If I then click "Control-C" (= Commands/compute), it asks for CD#2. After accessing the CD, it shows a move in red, which is apparently the best move (this is my guess). I then clicked on that move in red in the right-hand window, and tried control-C again to move forward. Is this the correct procedure to use with the CD?
