I think it's a good addition. Don't do anything like extra time on fail lows, or dynamically adjusting the amount of time used (e.g. slower immediately after leaving book), but basic time/move should be there. If ANSI C is adequate for basic timing (e.g. seconds elapsed), use it, so that the timing code is portable. Dave
