If you do it like me, you are not necessarily in right path, because my program is one of the weakest around. :-) I have tried several different things. And nothing very satisfying. Currently I search everything to current depth + only two captures after that. But I'm changing it so, that not all the lines will be searched to current depth anymore, but only interesting lines. (captures and moves which leave the opponent only few possibilities to reply are concidered to be interesting and other moves non-interesting. I keep track of the interestity of the searched line. The less interesting it looks the earlier I stop looking it deeper. Something may of course be missed if non-interesting looking line is cut too early.) Ciao! Jari
