Hello Walter, Thanks for the suggestion but I have to tell you the experiment was frightening. I removed a rook from Rebel-Tiger before the first move and when I tried to make my opening move, suddenly, and this never happened before, I clicked on the pawn but it wouldn't move! I tried clicking on it 3 or 4 times and then suddenly a fierce growl emanated from the speakers. It was loud enough to put fear in my heart and my finger on the exit icon - very quickly I should add. At this point I think playing against the patzers in CM7000 would be a safe alternative - I really can give Josh (age 7) a good old fashioned thrashing. Mel
